How to Begin
Register for off-campus, online and alternative format courses.
Step One: Find Your Course
If you need to find your course, download the Extended Programs and Educational Outreach Bulletin [PDF] or for the most up-to-date course listings, use one of EMU's Web-based search functions:
- my.emich.edu (admitted students with a my.emich account)
- http://it.emich.edu (prospective students not yet admitted to EMU)
Step Two: Register
Current Students
If you're a currently admitted EMU student, you can enroll in Extended Programs and Educational Outreach courses through your my.emich account, just as you would for any other course. If you haven't yet activated your my.emich account, follow these simple instructions.
Prospective Students
If you're not yet admitted to the University, you can enroll in your first semester's courses simply by using the Registration Form [PDF]. After completing your first semester, you'll need to apply to your program through the Office of Admissions before enrolling in additional courses.
Online Courses
To register for courses through EMU–Online, follow the instructions on the EMU-Online site.
Independent Learning
Register for Independent Learning courses through my.emich or by using the Independent Learning Registration Form [PDF].
Conferences, Workshops and Professional Development
For
conferences, workshops and other non-credit training opportunities,
register from the event's Web page. For a list of upcoming events,
visit Professional Programs and Training homepage.
Withdrawing From a Course
Cancellation
of Extended Programs and Educational Outreach courses can be completed
in one of two ways. Students who initially register through the
Web-based registration system can also use it to drop a course during
the dates specified by the Office of Records and Registration. Students
who are not eligible to use the Web-based registration system should
submit their cancellation in writing no later than seven business days
(no later than four business days for Spring/Summer) past the first day
of class for 100-percent tuition refund. After that time period,
cancellation must be completed in writing; however, no tuition will be
refunded. Courses of two weeks or fewer require written drop
notification by the end of the first day of class to receive
100-percent tuition refund. Download the course cancellation form [PDF].
